Gonzalo Pineda signed a three-and-a-half-year deal Aug. 12, 2021 to become Atlanta United’s fourth head coach in club history. Following a 13-year playing career, Pineda served as an assistant coach with Seattle Sounders FC from 2017-2021. Pineda led the team to its fourth MLS Cup Playoff appearance in five seasons after joining midseason.
Gonzalo Pineda Reyes (born October 19, 1982) is a Mexican professional football manager and former player, who is the current head coach of Major League Soccer club Atlanta United FC. Pineda played as a defensive midfielder for several clubs in Mexico, and also represented Mexico internationally.
